Alshon Jeffery seems to have become a forgotten name in the top-10 wide receiver discussion, which you could be forgiven for since he’s been out the majority of this season dealing with a host of injuries. But last week, Jeffery burst back onto the scene with an 8-catch 147-yard, 1-touchdown effort that proved he’s still got it.

In the two games he has played this season, Jeffery has accrued 11 targets in each, and has posted a very efficient 0.98 Reception NEP per target, good for sixth among wide receivers with at least 20 targets this season. Jeffery's target volume thus far this season makes him an attractive cash game option as he's clearly the go-to receiver in this offense with the offseason departure of Brandon Marshall. Moreover, Jay Cutler seems to have legitimately calmed down his DGAF tendencies, posting a respectable 0.16 Passing NEP per drop back, which, if it continues, would constitute his best effort since his 2008 season. Cutler's improved efficiency can only help Jeffery.

But Jeffery makes for a good tournament option too because he's going up against the respectable Vikings passing defense, currently ranked 11th in the league per our numbers, so the matchup on paper seems negative. But as our own John Proctor highlighted in his weekly "Wide Receivers with Great Cornerback Matchups" article, Jeffery should get to square up against Xavier Rhodes, who’s given up at least 18 PPR points to the struggling Calvin Johnson (twice) and Demaryius Thomas.

With Jeffery sidelined for the majority of the season thus far, his $7,700 price point represents a slight discount from the output that could result from his 29% total team target share and sneaky-plus matchup. Roster him on the (relative) cheap while you can.
