Ryan Schimpf has had a promising start to his major league career, showing plenty of pop with a .349 wOBA, .300 isolated slugging (ISO), 35.4% hard-hit rate and 64.2% fly-ball rate through 489 plate appearances in his first two seasons.

He's been especially good against right-handed pitching, with his wOBA jumping to .361 against opposite-handed hurlers, putting him in an interesting spot tonight against Robert Gsellman. The New York Mets' starter has a shaky 4.18 skill-interactive ERA (SIERA) to start the 2017 season, and he has allowed a 35.4% hard-hit rate to left-handed hitters over his first two years in the majors.
