3 MLB FanDuel Studs to Target on 4/12/18
Bryce Harper, OF, Washington Nationals
Price: $5,400
The Washington Nationals' 5.11 implied total is the slate's highest as they host the Colorado Rockies and right-hander Chad Bettis.
Bettis is coming off a nine-game 2017 campaign that saw him struggle to the tune of a 4.74 SIERA and 15.0% strikeout rate, and 2018 isn't shaping up to be any better. While his 2.53 ERA looks great, it doesn't mean much over two games, particularly when you factor in his ugly 5.24 SIERA and the 43.8% hard-hit rate he has allowed.
Bryce Harper doesn't need a great matchup to offer massive upside against a righty, but that's what he gets with Bettis.
Harper made very solid contact against right-handed pitching in 2017, posting a 35.4% hard-hit rate, 13.8% soft-hit rate and 40.4% fly-ball rate. Those numbers translated to a massive .442 wOBA and .332 isolated slugging (ISO) in the split. That gives him a wOBA north of .440 against righties in two of his last three seasons, and a career wOBA of .404 in the split.
