5 Daily Fantasy Baseball Value Plays for 4/26/18
Salvador Perez, C, Kansas City Royals
Price: $3,000
Even looking past Giolito's production and into some more peripheral numbers, there seems to be something wrong with him. The 23-year-old has seen his velocity fall off with each season he has been in the majors, marking a decline of 3.3% since 2016. For a guy who has already undergone Tommy John surgery in his young career, that's a big red flag.
Salvador Perez has played only two games since making a delayed season debut due to injury, but that doesn't overshadow the work he did last year.
In 2017, Perez made strong contact against right-handed pitching, with a 36.7% hard-hit, 17.8% soft-hit and 45.2% fly-ball rate. This translated to a reasonable .333 wOBA and solid .221 ISO. Being able to get that production for cheap in what should be one of the night's most productive offenses makes Perez very enticing.
