Giancarlo Stanton and the Yankees are up against the Los Angeles Angels and southpaw Andrew Heaney tonight.

Heaney has a solid 3.48 SIERA to start the 2018 season, but he's been giving up some worrying contact to right-handed bats, with a 37.7% hard-hit and 17.7% soft-hit rate. Over the last two seasons he has faced righties 218 times and has been crushed for a .368 wOBA on a 44.9% hard-hit rate.

A southpaw just can't afford to bring those numbers into a matchup with Stanton. In 210 plate appearances against left-handed hurlers over the last two seasons, Stanton has a 47.9% hard-hit rate, 17.6% soft-hit rate and 40.1% fly-ball rate. That has translated to a massive .502 wOBA and .466 isolated slugging (ISO), giving him a ridiculous ceiling in this spot.
