Fantasy Baseball: Where Will Hanley Ramirez Have the Biggest Impact?

Oakland Athletics

If the Oakland Athletics wanted to make themselves a little stronger against left-handed pitching, they should consider adding Ramirez and pairing him up with lefty slugger Matt Olson.

Olson has played everyday for the A's, and he has a .192/.263/.250 slash line against lefties this season, walking in just 3.5% of his 57 plate appearances against them. All seven of Olson's homers are against righties, and it's clear the A's would benefit from someone giving him an off-day against southpaws.

Of course, Oakland is about the worst place in the world for a hitter to land. They rank dead last in terms of run-scoring and home run environment this year, although oddly enough, Ramirez has hit well there in 18 career games (79 PAs). Batting .292/.354/.528 with 4 dingers at the Coliseum, Ramirez has mashed to the tune of a .378 wOBA, .236 ISO and 137 wRC+.

Still, he would probably get less playing time here than anywhere else, and playing all his home games there might bring down a lot of those numbers during the course of the season.
