Yasmani Grandal, Los Angeles Dodgers

As the Los Angeles Dodgers' offense has struggled to live up to expectations, Yasmani Grandal is quietly having a career year -- and his underlying stats say it could be even better.

The 29-year-old backstop has indeed been making superb contact despite somewhat shaky results of late, with Grandal tailing off a bit for a mediocre .206/.330/.403 triple slash over the past month despite clobbering the ball for a 46.3% hard-hit rate. This might explain why Grandal carries an expected slugging of .522 on the season, notably higher than his actual results of .480.

Grandal is a much better hitter against right-handed pitching (.213 career isolated slugging), and he's got six righties on the schedule in Week 9, with a trip to Coors Field to boot. The Dodgers' catcher seems like an excellent mid-priced play this week.
