Andrew Cashner is pitching for Baltimore tonight, and that should mean big things for the Blue Jays offense.

Cashner has opened 2018 with a 4.80 SIERA, and while that is an improvement from his awful 5.52 mark a year ago, it's right in line with the 4.72 he posted in 2016. None of those marks inspire any sort of confidence. Toronto's left-handed bats stand to benefit from this matchup the most, as Cashner has an especially egregious 5.55 xFIP against left-handed hitters over the last two seasons.

Curtis Granderson is more than capable of taking advantage of a plus matchup against a righty, having turned a 40.2% hard-hit rate into a .341 wOBA and .188 ISO against right-handed hurlers in 2018. And our models agree, with Granderson stacking up as the second-best point-per-dollar value among today's bats.
