10 Fantasy Baseball Players to Buy and Sell for Week 13
Buy Jesus Aguilar
One of the biggest surprises of the 2018 season has been the slugging prowess of Milwaukee Brewers first baseman Jesus Aguilar. How good has he been?
He's hitting .299/.358/.597 this season. That on-base percentage ranks 7th among 14 first basemen with at least 220 plate appearances. He's 1st in slugging, 2nd in wOBA (.297), 3rd in wRC+ (150), 2nd in home runs (16), 2nd in RBI (50), 1st in isolated power (.299) and 2nd in OPS (.955). At this point, he's certainly worthy of an All-Star nod, and will probably get one. Over the weekend, he hit two homers in a game against the St. Louis Cardinals, including one of the walk-off variety.
As if you needed an excuse to watch this again....

Aguilar's minor league numbers indicated he was a guy who possessed good power, and last year, in just 311 big league plate appearances, he also slugged 16 dingers and had a .265/.331/.505 slash line with a wRC+ of 112. He's obviously improved this season, but it's not crazy to think the improvement is for real. He's increased his walk rate from 8.0% to 8.7% and cut his strikeout rate from 30.2% to 24.9%.
Normally, you want to sell high on guys like this but only if you think a big dip in production is coming. In Aguilar's case, there's no reason to think he's going to suddenly stop hitting homers.
