5 Daily Fantasy Baseball Value Plays for 6/25/18
Kyle Seager, 3B, Seattle Mariners
Price: $2,900
On the other side of that game, the Mariners' 4.92 implied total is the second-highest on Monday's main slate. That comes largely thanks to a great matchup against Baltimore righty Andrew Cashner.
Cashner's 4.77 SIERA is the second-highest among starters on the main slate, and it comes after he posted a truly egregious 5.52 SIERA in 2017. Against left-handed sticks in 2018, he's pitched to a 4.40 xFIP while allowing .358 wOBA.
Kyle Seager has not produced good numbers this season, but he has actually been hitting the ball really well, especially against righties. His batted-ball profile against right-handed pitching includes a 40.7% hard-hit rate, 9.0% soft-hit rate and 46.5% fly-ball rate.
Despite that, he has notched only a .219 batting average on balls in play (BABIP) against righties. When you compared that to a career .287 BABIP -- despite a lower hard-hit rate and higher soft-hit rate -- we can expect Seager's production to pick up in a big way. A matchup with Cashner is a perfect spot for that increase to manifest.
