Greg Bird, 1B, New York Yankees

Price: $2,300

While his 3.41 ERA is solid, Jake Arrieta has managed only a 4.37 SIERA for the Philadelphia Phillies this year. That's his worst mark since 2013, and it also puts him on pace for back-to-back seasons with a SIERA above 4.00 -- something he hasn't done since his first two MLB seasons in 2010 and 2011.

His 4.54 xFIP against left-handed bats makes this a particularly good spot for Greg Bird, who gives you exposure to the high-powered Yankees offense while only costing a few hundred more than the minimum.

Bird hasn't produced well through 99 plate appearances this year, but that's a small sample and does include a promising 39.7% hard-hit rate and 6.9% soft-hit rate. His 345 career plate appearances against righties have seen him turn a 39.9% hard-hit rate, 12.2% soft-hit rate and 50.5% fly-ball rate into a .326 wOBA and .248 ISO despite a low .246 BABIP. Even if we ignore that BABIP and the suggestion that we will likely see his strong contact lead to superior production in the future, that contact and ISO is enough to give him big upside tonight.
