Normally, we see pitchers struggle against opposite-handed bats, but Lance McCullers has certainly proven to be the exception. This season against lefties, the righty has dominated them to the tune of a .260 wOBA, 29.2% strikeout rate, and meager 29.9% fly-ball rate.

Tampa Bay Rays outfielder Kevin Kiermaier has really struggled in this split in 2018. Limited to only 52 plate appearances, the lefty owns a 32.1% strikeout rate, .257 wOBA, and identical 28.6% hard-hit and fly-ball rates.

It's fair to point out that last season in 263 plate appearances with the platoon advantage, Kiermaier performed far better with a .358 wOBA. However, given his horrific numbers in 2018 and McCullers success against lefty bats, he may be one to avoid tonight.
