Erik Gonzalez opened 2018 with a .330 wOBA on a 40.0% hard-hit rate. That's far from elite production, but it is more than strong enough that he should immediately catch your eye when he's priced down at the minimum.
He also gets a big boost in value from his matchup and ballpark tonight. He'll be batting at the hitter-friendly Globe Life Park in Arlington, and taking on Texas Rangers southpaw Martin Perez. Globe Life has the most hitter-friendly park factor on the slate, and Perez is allowing a heinous .457 wOBA and 6.04 xFIP to right-handed bats this year.
Cleveland's 5.46 implied total is the day's highest, and Gonzalez is an absolute steal at minimum salary. It doesn't really matter where he's batting in the order.
