At first glance, Jaime Barria's 2018 season looks pretty tasty. Over 17 starts and 87 2/3 innings, Barria owns 7 wins and a 3.59 ERA. A deeper dive reveals some serious warts, though, and that's a pitcher we want to avoid tonight.

On the year, Barria has struck out only 17.6% of batters, and that ERA is being sustained by a strand rate (82.1%) that's far above the league-average for starters (72.7%). And his 4.63 skill-interactive ERA (SIERA) reflects that, as well.

Factor in that the San Diego Padres have been sneaky good in the last two weeks -- with a .339 weighted on-base average (wOBA) that ranks sixth in MLB -- and it could be a tough night for Barria.
