Cesar Hernandez has been brilliant as the leadoff man for the Philadelphia Phillies in 2018, posting a 14.3% walk rate on his way to 77 runs scored.
A deeper dive, though, reveals that the second baseman has had some struggles against righties this season, owning a mediocre .327 wOBA and a lowly 22.7% hard-hit rate.
He gets no favors facing Washington Nationals starter Tanner Roark, who's been fantastic recently. In his last five starts, Roark has twirled a 1.77 ERA over 35 2/3 innings, including a microscopic 3.6% walk rate and 22.1% hard-hit rate.
