Daily Fantasy Baseball: Positive Batted-Ball Regression Candidates for Week 23
Josh Bell, 1B, Pittsburgh Pirates
With the promise of Josh Bell's 26-homer campaign in 2017 firmly in the rearview, we're officially in post-hype-sleeper territory with the Pittsburgh Pirates infielder.
And while Bell has continued to look unremarkable from a power-production standpoint (.051 ISO in his last 49 plate appearances), he still profiles as a competent stick in his peripheral stats. The 26-year-old's strikeout and walk rates are an identical 18.8% in that span, with 36.7% hard contact and a respectable 20.0% liner rate.
The Pirates get a cupcake schedule this week as they square off against the Reds and Marlins (27th in xFIP). Bell and his low-$3,000s salary make for a promising roster filler, particularly against lefties Cody Reed and Wei-Yin Chen.
