The Boston Red Sox are cruising toward another playoff berth, and a strong offense, which has racked up a league-best .339 wOBA, is a major reason why.

One dirty little secret? The Sox's offense takes a bit of a step backwards against left-handed pitching. While it's still very strong, it slides back to 12th in team wOBA (.318) with an inflated strikeout rate of 22.8%.

Tonight, they take on Sean Newcomb, and Andrew Benintendi has had a tough time against southpaws. In 2018, the outfielder has a 24.5% strikeout rate, .297 wOBA and 23.4% hard-hit rate in lefty-lefty matchups, making him one to steer clear of tonight.
