While we've seen Max Scherzer give up 3 earned runs in each of his last 3 starts, we've also seen him continue to post dominant fantasy numbers. He has 11 strikeouts in each of his last 2 games, and has hit double-digits in that category in 6 of his last 9.

Among qualifying pitchers, he ranks second in SIERA (2.71), third in strikeout rate (34.4%) and first in swinging-strike rate (16.0%) this season, while also sitting fourth in FanDuel points per game (46.2). If we just look at the starters in action tonight, he sits in first in each of those categories.

Just looking at active rosters, the Atlanta Braves have a middling 99 wRC+ against right-handed pitching, and even though their 21.0% strikeout rate is a below-average mark, Scherzer should have no issues in this matchup.

It comes as little surprise that numberFire's models have him pegged as the top-scoring pitcher on the slate.
