Steven Duggar, OF, San Francisco Giants

Price: $2,400

The San Francisco Giants may not have a great implied total (4.01 runs) in their matchup with the Washington Nationals and righty Jeremy Hellickson, but Steven Duggar offers some intriguing value anyway.

Duggar will likely be batting leadoff tonight, and getting a leadoff hitter with the platoon advantage for this cheap is typically going to bring some fantasy appeal in all but the worst matchups.

Hellickson, for his part, isn't anything special. He hasn't posted a SIERA better than 4.00 since 2010, and his last three seasons have seen him post marks of 4.15, 5.37 and 4.33. The low implied total comes as much from the Giants' offensive struggles as anything.

Duggar has been included in those struggles, only managing a .268 wOBA over 77 plate appearances. That's come with some excellent contact though, including a 42.0% hard-hit rate and 16.0% soft-hit rate, so there's some room for optimism that he can pick it up. The favorable leadoff spot has also helped him pick up 7 runs and 8 RBI in 17 games this year (also adding two home runs and one stolen base), giving him a ton more fantasy value than we'd see if he were batting lower in the order.
