Kyle Hendricks, Chicago Cubs

Kyle Hendricks is another pitcher who has been a FanGraphs darling. His 3.47 SIERA and 3.40 xFIP are better than his 3.73 ERA, and he still can’t get a sniff on majority of fantasy baseball rosters. His next start is “on the road” on the south side of Chicago against the White Sox.

It was good to see the White Sox slay bums and lose out on selling off assets in a seller’s trade market. Now their bloated strikeout totals and anemic hitting are here to stay. Their 4.5 team batting WAR is tied for fifth worst overall and average an abysmal 3.37 runs per home contest. Chicago’s home slash line of .242/.300/.376 is among the five worst in the majors. Three teams have less extra base hits than the Pale Hose’s 128 but, hey, they were buyers for a good reason, right?
