Why He Will Go Overlooked:

Xander Bogaerts and Trevor Story will likely be the most popular options at shortstop today, which should keep Javier Baez's ownership in check.

Why You Should Use Him:

The Chicago Cubs have started giving Baez regular playing time recently, and he has rewarded them with his play. In his last seven starts, Baez has averaged 17.3 FanDuel points per game.

He'll look to continue his recent success in tonight's matchup with lefty Gio Gonzalez. Gonzalez has really struggled recently, posting an 8.34 ERA over his last four starts. Gonzalez has posted worse numbers against righties, which bodes well for Baez, who has posted much better numbers against left-handed pitching.

Baez tends to be a bit hit-or-miss, so he's probably not safe for cash games. However, he has considerable upside for someone this cheap. Give him a look in tournaments tonight.
