4 Daily Fantasy Baseball Stacks for 8/15/16

Stacking can be a controversial topic in many daily fantasy sports, but you can count baseball as a glaring exception. Here, it's universal.

Using multiple players on the same team on a given day presents you with the opportunity to double dip. If one of your players hits an RBI double, there's a good chance he drove in another one of your guys. When you get the points for both the run and the RBI, you'll be climbing the leaderboards fast.

Each day here on numberFire, we'll go through four offenses ripe for the stacking. They could have a great matchup, be in a great park, or just have a lot of quality sticks in the lineup, but these are the offenses primed for big days that you may want a piece of.

Now, let's get to the stacks. As always, we will not include today's game at Coors Field here. Coors is awesome for DFS, but you likely don't need me to tell you that. Here are the other teams you should be targeting in daily fantasy baseball today.

Texas Rangers

There is a game at Coors Field today -- the run-scoring haven of the baseball world -- and it is only tied for the highest over/under on the slate. That's because the Texas Rangers and Oakland Athletics are tossing a couple of struggling hurlers, putting the game's over/under at 10. We'll get to the A's in a second, but let's start things with a look at these rebuilt Rangers.

They'll be squaring off against Ross Detwiler, who made a superb return to the rotation last week by blanking the Baltimore Orioles for eight innings. It was his first big-league appearance since April, so that's clearly something to note. At the same time, he only racked up two strikeouts, and the performance pushed his soft-hit rate down to 14.6%. It looks good on paper, but the lack of strikeouts shows how much the BABIP gods were on his side. We shouldn't expect that same luck to linger this time.

Of the projected top six batters in the Rangers' order, only one of them is below $3,500 on FanDuel. He's not a guy who should be that cheap.

Adrian Beltre's hard-hit rate against lefties is 41.7% with a 38.5% fly-ball rate, giving him gobs of upside every time a southpaw is on the bump. Jonathan Lucroy is the most desirable asset because of his insistence on bopping fly balls, but Beltre's price makes him a top target, as well.
