4 Daily Fantasy Baseball Stacks for 8/19/16

Stacking can be a controversial topic in many daily fantasy sports, but you can count baseball as a glaring exception. Here, it's universal.

Using multiple players on the same team on a given day presents you with the opportunity to double dip. If one of your players hits an RBI double, there's a good chance he drove in another one of your guys. When you get the points for both the run and the RBI, you'll be climbing the leaderboards fast.

Each day here on numberFire, we'll go through four offenses ripe for the stacking. They could have a great matchup, be in a great park, or just have a lot of quality sticks in the lineup, but these are the offenses primed for big days that you may want a piece of.

Now, let's get to the stacks. As always, we will not include today's game at Coors Field here. Coors is great for DFS, but you likely don't need me to tell you that. Here are the other teams you should be targeting in daily fantasy baseball today.

Los Angeles Dodgers

If you're sensing a trend here, it's because you should: the Los Angeles Dodgers are one of the best offenses in baseball, and their East-Coast binge is a park-factor delight. Don't expect their sauciness to halt tonight against Tim Adleman.

This will be Adleman's fifth start in the Majors, and his first four haven't been too terrible. His 3.72 ERA is respectable, and his 19.3% strikeout rate is just a smidge below average. Even with that, his SIERA is up at 4.84, and his 16.7% strikeout rate in the minors hints that he's due for a bit of regression. With how well the Dodgers have been hitting the past few months, they could bring that regression in one swift kick.

Given that he just double donged two nights ago, you've probably noticed that Adrian Gonzalez is coming out of his season-long slump. Normally, we should be skeptical about investing here on the chance that it's simply the product of a small sample and not a sustainable change.

That's not the case here.

Since the All-Star break, Gonzalez has jacked his hard-hit rate up to 43.7%, a silly jump from his mark of 29.4% in the first half. It's good to be cautious about investing in a hot hitter, but with Gonzalez, the investment is justified.
