4 Daily Fantasy Baseball Stacks for 6/12/18

Stacking can be a controversial topic in many daily fantasy sports, but you can count baseball as a glaring exception. Here, it's universal.

Using multiple players on the same team on a given day presents you with the opportunity to double dip. If one of your players hits an RBI double, there's a good chance he drove in another one of your guys. When you get the points for both the run and the RBI, you'll be climbing the leaderboards fast.

Each day here on numberFire, we'll go through four offenses ripe for the stacking. They could have a great matchup, be in a great park, or just have a lot of quality sticks in the lineup, but these are the offenses primed for big days that you may want a piece of.

Boston Red Sox

David Hess has posted a 4.17 xFIP in 2018 so far... in Triple-A. In the majors, he's been predictably worse, as his xFIP is at 5.32 and his SIERA of 5.18 isn't much better. With a 13.6% strikeout rate and 47.9% fly-ball rate allowed on the year, he is a clear pitcher for the Boston Red Sox to pounce on.

J.D. Martinez ($5,000) and Mookie Betts ($4,500) are both healthy after missing time due to back and side injuries, respectively. Despite the injuries, both still lead baseball in barrels per plate appearance, which tells a lot about how well both of them have been playing. Andrew Benintendi ($4,500) has been picking up the slack with Betts missing time, as he has a 176 wRC+ since the beginning of May.

Mitch Moreland ($4,000) continues to hit in the heart of the Boston order, and he deserves that spot as he has a 37.9% fly-ball rate and 40.3% hard-hit rate on the season. Even that hard-hit rate may undersell him, as Moreland ranks 20th in barrels per plate appearance. Rafael Devers ($3,400) is the cheapest everyday position player for Boston who has any kind of upside, and he has a 39.1% fly-ball rate and 36.5% hard-hit rate in 2018.
