FanDuel Daily Fantasy Baseball Helper: Monday 8/26/19
Only one pitcher is priced even above $9,000 on Monday's slate, and not surprisingly, he's easily the top hurler on the board. But if we want to stock up on our bats in tournaments, can we find any value further down in the pitching ranks?
Our daily helper is available every day to analyze FanDuel's main slate and help give you a starting point when you're building lineups. Be sure to also incorporate our great tools into your research process. Whether you're looking for daily projections, the latest starting lineups and weather, or batting and pitching heat maps to find the best matchups -- we've got you covered! And don't forget to take a listen to The Solo Shot podcast with Jim Sannes, who breaks down the MLB daily fantasy slate each day.
On that note, let's highlight some of the top options for today's FanDuel main slate.
Pitchers to Target
High-Priced Pitcher
Sonny Gray ($11,300 on FanDuel): Sonny Gray is that one guy priced above everyone else tonight, and while it's a hefty price tag, he not only owns far and away the slate's highest strikeout rate (29.2%), but he gets one of our favorite opponents in the Miami Marlins. Those Marlins have been a favorite target for righties all season, with an active roster showing a league-worst 73 wRC+ in the split -- even worse than the Tigers -- along with a 25.5% strikeout rate. Gray has also been as consistent as they come since the end of June, tallying 40 or more FanDuel points 9 of his last 10 starts and reaching 49 or more five times. Over that span, he's posted the 8th-best strikeout rate (32.6%) and 15th-best SIERA among qualified starters. Gray figures to be extremely popular, but considering the fat scores the Marlins have been surrendering to far weaker hurlers, he should be in a for a fantastic night.
