4 Daily Fantasy Baseball Stacks for 8/28/19

The Boston Red Sox are once again expected to pile up the runs against the Colorado Rockies tonight, and with a massive 7.59 implied total against struggling right-hander Peter Lambert, they're the clear top stack on the night. Of course, that also means they'll almost certainly be immensely popular, leaving us room to still look at other spots to stack in tournaments.

Each day here on numberFire, we'll go through four offenses ripe for the stacking. They could have a great matchup, be in a great park, or just have a lot of quality sticks in the lineup, but these are the offenses primed for big days that you may want a piece of.

Now, let's get to the stacks. As usual, we will not include today's game at Coors Field in these recommendations. You already know that you want bats at Coors when you can afford them, and you don't need us to tell you. Here are the other teams you should be targeting in daily fantasy baseball today.

Washington Nationals

The Washington Nationals proved to be a disappointment against the Baltimore Orioles on Tuesday, inexplicably failing to plate a single run against one of the worst pitching staffs in the league.

Well, they get the opportunity for some redemption against Asher Wojciechowski, who's allowing 2.33 dingers per nine innings -- a mark that's also reflected in a poor 13th-percentile xSLG allowed.

The home runs are flying from both sides of the plate, but the underlying numbers side with left-handed batters particularly getting a boost. The one thing Wojciechowski has going for him is a surprisingly high 29.4% strikeout rate in same-sided matchups, but against lefties, that number plummets to just 19.6% and comes with a hideous 6.57 xFIP.

That places Juan Soto ($4,100) at the front of the line for tonight's stacks, while Asdrubal Cabrera ($2,800) stands out as a solid value. Adam Eaton ($3,700) remains overpriced but still deserves some tournament consideration since the high salary should lower his ownership.

Despite Wojciechowski's strikeout prowess against righty sticks, he still allows a sky-high 61.0% fly-ball rate in the split, so Anthony Rendon ($4,500) and Trea Turner ($4,200) remain as dangerous as ever. Brian Dozier ($2,400) and Kurt Suzuki ($2,300) offer up some punts in the bottom half of the order, too.

The Orioles' bullpen continues to also show poor marks, coming in with the fifth-worst xFIP among active rosters.
