Fantasy Baseball Waiver Wire Adds: Week 23
With the 2021 baseball season in full swing, nailing the waiver wire and the players available are critical to beating out your league-mates in season-long leagues.

Adam Ottavino, RP, Boston Red Sox
Roster Percentage: 23%
Need saves? Well, I have a highly speculative add if you are interested.
Incumbent Boston Red Sox closer Matt Barnes has really struggled as of late, allowing runs in four of his last seven appearances and posting a 7.94 ERA since the All-Star Break. Adam Ottavino claimed a save in an opportunity on Friday, and he could start seeing more ninth-inning work.
If you need some saves, Ottavino is worth a roll of the dice.
Edward Cabrera, SP, Miami Marlins
Roster Percentage: 26%
Do the Miami Marlins just possess this endless supply of ridiculous arms at their disposal?
Next up in line: Edward Cabrera, who recorded a quality start in his major league debut, fanning two and allowing three runs in 6 1/3 innings pitched. Cabrera's line would have been even spicier had he not allowed two seventh-inning blasts.
Cabrera was highly efficient in the outing, needing only 78 pitches to pitch into the seventh, and lines up for two starts this coming week.
Edmundo Sosa, SS, St. Louis Cardinals
Roster Percentage: 1%
We don't be a prisoner of the moment, but Edmundo Sosa of the St. Louis Cardinals is a really good player.
He did have a monster Saturday evening, logging a 4-for-6 night with five RBIs. But Sosa has flashed a juicy power/speed combo across multiple stops in the minor leagues -- including an impressive 17-homer season in fewer than 500 plate appearances in 2019 and eight steals in 233 plate appearances in an earlier stop.
Paul DeJong has struggled mightily at the dish for the Cards in 2021 -- a .299 wOBA and 25.3% strikeout rate -- so Sosa could grab this job and run.
Nick Solak, 2B/OF, Texas Rangers
Roster Percentage: 24%
Can we finally trust in Nick Solak of the Texas Rangers?
Solak has now logged five consecutive games with a base hit and is a guy you need to peep.
Let's rightfully set expectations here -- Solak has stunk this season. Stunk. A pre-season darling of many fantasy players, the combo second baseman/outfielder has posted only a .294 wOBA and 86 wRC+. He's been bad.
But he's been good since getting recalled, with a .750 OPS, one jack and one steal. Check him out if you need some offensive punch.
