Carlos Santana sitting for Royals Thursday afternoon
Kansas City Royals first baseman Carlos Santana is not in the starting lineup for Thursday afternoon's series finale against right-hander Vince Velasquez and the Chicago White Sox.
Santana is taking a seat after starting the previous two games. MJ Melendez is shifting into the designated hitter role in place of Santana while Sebastian Rivero enters the lineup to start at catcher and hit eighth.
numberFire’s models project Rivero for 8.9 FanDuel points on Thursday, and he has a $2,000 salary. Per our MLB Heat Map, the Royals have the fifth-highest implied total (4.53) out of 16 active clubs on Thursday.
