Tucupita Marcano moving to Pittsburgh dugout Wednesday
Pittsburgh Pirates infielder Tucupita Marcano is not in the lineup for Wednesday afternoon's series finale against left-hander Alex Wood and the San Francisco Giants.
The left-handed hitting Marcano will move to the bench for the matinee after he went hitless with a strikeout on Tuesday. Chris Owings will replace Marcano at shortstop and bat seventh versus the Giants' southpaw. Rodolfo Castro will move up to the cleanup spot as he makes a fourth straight start. Carlos Santana (back) remains out for the Pirates.
Per numberFire's MLB Heat Map, the Pirates' implied total is fifth-lowest on Wednesday at 3.92 and the game total is 8.0. Wood has a 3.51 ERA and 1.44 WHIP this season, with a 22.4% strikeout rate and 11.2% walk rate.
