Zach McKinstry idle Thursday for Tigers versus lefty
Detroit Tigers infielder/outfielder Zach McKinstry is not in the lineup for Thursday afternoon's series finale against rookie left-hander Hogan Harris and the Oakland Athletics.
The left-handed hitting McKinstry will sit versus the Athletics' southpaw. Jonathan Schoop will take over on third base and bat sixth. Matt Vierling will replace McKinstry as the Tigers' leadoff batter and start in left field again. Andy Ibanez will start in the other corner of the outfield. Akil Baddoo (quadriceps) and Riley Greene (fibula) are expected to return from the injured list this weekend.
numberFire’s models project Vierling ($2,900) for 10.4 FanDuel points on Wednesday. Per our MLB Heat Map, the Tigers' implied total is 4.69 and the game total is 8.5. Harris has a 5.17 ERA and 4.28 xERA this season, with a 41.7% hard-hit rate, 17.9% strikeout rate, and 9.3% walk rate.
