Cardinals' Miles Mikolas suspended 5 games
St. Louis Cardinals pitcher Miles Mikolas has been suspended for five games.
Mikolas was ejected from Thursday's game after hitting Ian Happ with a pitch. The pitch came after Happ hit Cardinals' catcher Willson Contreras' head on the follow-through of his swing, forcing Contreras to exit the game. Mikolas plans to appeal his suspension.
In 127.3 innings pitched this season, Mikolas has a 4.38 ERA with 87 strikeouts and 25 walks.
