Nationals place Stone Garrett (leg) on injured list
The Washington Nationals placed outfielder Stone Garrett on the 10-day injured list Thursday with a fractured left fibula.
Garrett will not be able to return this season after he was carted off the field during Wednesday's game against the New York Yankees. The Nationals called up Jeter Downs from Triple-A Rochester in a corresponding roster move. Lane Thomas will move to right field in Thursday afternoon's series finale against the Yankees. Alex Call will start in center field and hit ninth.
numberFire’s models project Thomas ($3,400) for 11.0 and Call ($2,500) for 7.0 FanDuel points on Thursday. Per our MLB Heat Map, the Nationals' implied total is 3.59, second-lowest on the board, and the game total is 8.5. Jhony Brito will serve as a bulk reliever for the Yankees behind opener Michael King in the matinee. He has a weak 17.3% strikeout rate and elevated 5.43 xERA across 64 2/3 innings this season.
