The top echelon of this list amounts to two franchises. The Dallas Mavericks, with a composite of 17, separate themselves from the pack via the league's second-best average nERD (61.83) and net rating (4.0), with edges of 4.83 and 2.0 over the next-best teams.

The Mavericks, headed by Mark Cuban, coached by some greats and led by Dirk Nowitzki, have been solid defensively, ranking ninth in defensive rating. Nothing, though, compares to their offensive efficiency -- they are first in offensive rating (109.5) with the NBA's third-best effective field goal percentage.
