Welcome to the round of picks that will likely all be gone from our rosters within a week or so. The last-round pick is pretty much the definition of a dart throw and you shouldn't get too attached to any of them if a hot free agent emerges on your waiver wire.
That said, there's plenty to like in these picks. It's not every day that you can grab a reigning Finals MVP with the last pick in your draft, but that's precisely what Derek Lynch did by taking Andre Iguodala. We're projecting him at 96th overall this year, as someone who continues to be a good source of threes, assists, and steals.
Other than that? Mason Plumlee could carve out a decent role with the Trail Blazers and help you in rebounds, blocks, and field goal percentage. Same goes for Willie Cauley-Stein on the Kings. Trey Burke could be an excellent late source of threes, assists, and free throw percentage with Dante Exum out for the year with an ACL tear. Nik Stauskas could be this year's "bad player on the Sixers that puts up decent fantasy stats because he's on the Sixers", or maybe a three-point specialist. Tony Parker could hold onto fringe standard-league value as a decent source of points, assists, and percentages. Our Mr. Irrelevant, Clint Capela, could become a decent source of rebounds and blocks if Dwight goes down with an injury.
Or none of those things could happen. We'll see.
My pick: Jabari Parker, SF/PF - I'm not all that high on Jabari Parker this season and neither are our algorithms, as we have him projected as this year's 229th-ranked fantasy player. The first year coming off an ACL tear is rarely all that productive from a fantasy perspective, and the Bucks have been very public with their intentions to bring him along slowly. For that matter, he still doesn't even have a timetable for his return. He's basically my injured reserve stash, and I'll keep him if he hits the ground running, but drop him like a hot potato if he struggles.
