3 Daily Fantasy Basketball Players to Avoid on 12/26/16

John Wall has to square off against the Milwaukee Bucks yet again on Monday, making him a potential landmine on this giant DFS NBA slate.

In daily fantasy basketball, finding players you want to roster is a lot easier than finding players to avoid.

You can find a ton of great information and research on guys you might want to include in your DFS NBA lineups, but what about guys you may want to lessen your exposure to, or even fade altogether?

Avoiding players whose matchups or situations aren't as great as they seem can often be just as important as finding the best targets. After all, it only takes one player to sink a lineup. Searching for the landmines could mean the difference from winning or losing your contests.

John Wall, PG, Washington Wizards

FanDuel Price: $9,700

We faded John Wall this past Friday with great results, as the Washington Wizards point guard had a forgettable night. The Wizards are now set for the home leg of their matchup against the Milwaukee Bucks, and Wall looks like a player to avoid once again.

After only 35.6 FanDuel points on Friday, Wall is averaging just 40.1 FanDuel points in his last five meetings against Matthew Dellavedova, and the Bucks defense will remain focused on Wall tonight, which is bad news for his fantasy outlook.

With their recent success, Milwaukee is now holding opposing point guards to 0.83 FanDuel points per minute. Even though the Wizards are at home on Monday, it's doubtful Wall breaks through the Bucks' defense.

Bismack Biyombo, C, Orlando Magic

FanDuel Price: $4,900

Bismack Biyombo has started to play well recently for the Orlando Magic, and he could potentially get more opportunity since the team might be interested in trading Nikola Vucevic.

However, that speculation won't translate into fantasy points on Monday because Biyombo and the rest of the Magic are up against the Memphis Grizzlies, who have held opposing centers to just 0.84 FanDuel points per minute this season.

Marc Gasol has been a big reason for this. The Grizzlies' All-Star big man is holding players he defends to just 47.4% shooting overall and 51.7% shooting from within 6 feet. After 2 straight strong games against subpar defensive teams, Biyombo might be in for some regression against Gasol.

Marcus Morris, SF, Detroit Pistons

FanDuel Price: $4,300

Marcus Morris has been struggling lately, and while he remained in the starting lineup when Stan Van Gundy switched things up, it's hard to see him holding any fantasy value on Monday.

He may luck out and get the Cleveland Cavaliers off a back-to-back without LeBron James, who might be rested. However, even if James sits out, Morris does not give you confidence like he did earlier in the season.

In his last five games, he's averaged just under 12 FanDuel points per game. James not playing will help, but Morris is still a tough guy to target in DFS NBA contests right now.
