NBA Daily Fantasy Helper: Wednesday 10/25/17
If you're new to daily fantasy basketball -- maybe you started your DFS journey during the MLB or NFL seasons, or maybe basketball is your sport and this will be your first year giving it a shot -- you're in for a treat. The NBA scene changes hugely on a week-to-week, day-to-day, and -- depending on injury news -- even a minute-to-minute basis, making every slate a unique one that requires an ever-changing approach.
With so much changing so quickly, we're here with plenty of tools to help you out. We have daily projections, a matchup heat map, a lineup optimizer, and a ton of other great resources to help give you an edge.
We'll also be coming at you with this primer every day, breaking down a few of the day's top plays at each price point.
Let's take a look at who you should target on today's slate.
Best of the Best
John Wall (FanDuel Price: $10,200) - Wall and the Washington Wizards face the Los Angeles Lakers on the road, and that means Wall against Lonzo Ball. Wall said he's going to show the rookie point guard "no mercy." So there's that. But there's also the fact that the Lakers play at the league's fastest pace and rank 22nd in defensive rating. Wall boasts a 31.9% usage rate, as well, and the over/under sits at a hefty 226.5 points.
LeBron James ($10,700) and Kevin Love ($8,300) - We know that Derrick Rose is out tonight already, and this game has a 228-point over/under. Yes, the Cleveland Cavaliers played last night, but so did the Brooklyn Nets. As a seven-point favorite, the Cavs have blowout risk, but they rarely make good on blowout spots, covering around half the time since 2016. Cleveland also owns the Nets' first-round pick, so they probably don't want to let this one slip away. Either way, James is projected for 4.72 FanDuel points per $1,000 in salary, and Love sits at 4.96.
