NBA Daily Fantasy Helper: Tuesday 1/29/19

In a matchup with the Suns, LaMarcus Aldridge offers huge upside as the focal point of the Spurs' offense.

If you're new to daily fantasy basketball -- maybe you started your DFS journey during the MLB or NFL seasons, or maybe basketball is your sport and this will be your first year giving it a shot -- you're in for a treat. The NBA scene changes hugely on a week-to-week, day-to-day, and -- depending on injury news -- even a minute-to-minute basis, making every slate a unique one that requires an ever-changing approach.

With so much changing so quickly, we're here with plenty of tools to help you out. We have daily projections, a matchup heat map, a lineup optimizer, and a ton of other great resources to help give you an edge.

We'll also be coming at you with this primer every day, breaking down a few of the day's top plays at each price point.

Let's take a look at who you should target on today's main slate.

Best of the Best

James Harden ($13,900): After a down game against the Toronto Raptors on Friday, Harden bounced back on Sunday, showing that the return of Chris Paul isn't going to hamper his fantasy value. He still posted a usage rate north of 40% just in minutes with Paul on the floor, and played over 37 minutes of his own, dropping 69 FanDuel points. He's averaging a shade over 67 per game since this absurd streak started on December 13, and he has fully earned this massive price tag. He also gets a terrific matchup tonight, taking on a New Orleans Pelicans squad that allows the NBA's fifth-most points and fourth-most assists per game to opponents, getting tagged for the sixth-most FanDuel points per minute by opposing shooting guards.
