3 NBA FanDuel Value Plays to Target on 1/14/20
One of the keys to finding success in daily fantasy basketball is uncovering potential value plays. If you're looking to roster a stud player or two, you need to consider squeezing in one of these lower-priced options into your lineup.
Let's take a look at three players who can help fill in the gaps in your lineup.
Elie Okobo, SG, Phoenix Suns ($3,500)
With Ricky Rubio unlikely to play tonight, Elie Okobo should be in the starting lineup.
Rubio didn't travel with the team for tonight's game in Atlanta, and we should be seeing Okobo get the start at point guard. He comes in at the minimum salary and would need only 17.5 FanDuel points in order to reach 5x value. That is absolutely reachable considering the Phoenix Suns find themselves in a game where the over/under is set at 225.00 points. Not only is the over/under of this game great, but the pace should be one of the best on the slate as we have both teams sitting in the top-10 when it comes to offensive pace this season.
The Hawks are allowing 47.3 FanDuel points per game to opposing point guards this season -- the 10th most in the league. Rostering Okobo allows you to go for a stars-and-scrubs build, which is always popular in tournaments.
Reggie Bullock, SG, New York Knicks ($4,400)
Reggie Bullock has seen the starting lineup recently due to a few injuries on the New York Knicks.
With Marcus Morris ruled out for this game, Bullock should be in the starting lineup once again. Bullock is listed as a shooting guard on FanDuel but has been starting at small forward for New York. Defensively, this isn't an amazing matchup against the Milwaukee Bucks -- a team allowing the 11th-fewest FanDuel points per game to small forwards this season.
While the matchup isn't ideal, this is a huge pace-up pace spot for the Knicks, giving Bullock a good chance to hit value. The Knicks are 22nd this season in pace, and the Bucks are 2nd. Extra touches on the ball are always beneficial. We have Bullock projected for 27 minutes and 23.1 FanDuel points tonight.
Omari Spellman, PF, Golden State Warriors ($4,600)
The Golden State Warriors' rotation is deep, and there is plenty of value to find.
In their last two games, the Warriors have had nine and 10 different players see the court -- nearly all of them logging double-digit minutes. This can make things difficult when finding value, but Omari Spellman stands out. He has played at least 20 minutes in five of his last six games, posting more than one FanDuel point per minute in four of those six.
Spellman has been starting center for the Warriors in recent games and should continue producing solid fantasy points tonight against the Dallas Mavericks, who are allowing 51.5 FanDuel points per game to centers. We have Spellman projected for 28 minutes and 27.8 FanDuel points -- making him our second-best point-per-dollar value play on the slate.
