5 NBA FanDuel Value Plays to Target on 3/2/20

One of the keys to finding success in daily fantasy basketball is uncovering potential value plays. If you're looking to roster a stud player or two, you need to consider squeezing in one of these lower-priced options into your lineup.

Let's take a look at five players who can help fill in the gaps in your lineup.

Trey Lyles, PF, San Antonio Spurs ($4,300)

With the San Antonio Spurs dealing with a few injuries, Trey Lyles could be one of the chalkier options tonight.

LaMarcus Aldridge is listed as doubtful for tonight's game against the Indiana Pacers and has already missed their two most recent games. Next, we have Jakob Poeltl -- who had been playing in place of Aldridge -- out for multiple weeks due to an MCL injury over the weekend. This leaves the Spurs very shorthanded when it comes to their frontcourt, pushing Lyles into the starting lineup and set for plenty of minutes. In their game over the weekend against the Orlando Magic, Poeltl played only four minutes before getting injured, which led to Lyles having one of his best games of the season -- posting 47.8 FanDuel points.

We have Lyles projected for 34 minutes tonight, set to produce 26.8 FanDuel points, making him the fourth-best value option on the slate and the best option at power forward tonight. While we are waiting on Aldridge to be officially ruled out, it's safe to assume Lyles will be in for a big role regardless.

Markelle Fultz, PG, Orlando Magic ($5,100)

The Orlando Magic are looking to be a strong team to roster tonight, given their matchup versus the Portland Trail Blazers.

This is a significant pace-up spot for the Magic -- they are 26th in the league, the Trail Blazers are 12th -- putting them in a spot for extra possessions and extra fantasy points as a result. Speaking of fantasy points, Portland is allowing a ton of them to point guards this season and have generally been a profitable team to attack. The Trail Blazers are allowing 49.0 FanDuel points per game to opposing point guards, the fifth-worst in the league.

Fultz comes into this game with 26 FanDuel points or more in three of his last five games and is projected for another 28 FanDuel points tonight. Given the options that are available at point guard tonight, Fultz shouldn't be too highly owned, and if he is in a spot to exceed value -- he makes a strong tournament option.

Wendell Carter, C, Chicago Bulls ($3,600)

Wendell Carter Jr. is projected as our third-best value option tonight, let's take a look at why.

The Chicago Bulls' season has been filled with injuries, and they aren't slowing down. As one player is coming back from an injury, it seems another player gets hurt -- leaving value all over the place. Tonight, the value comes from Carter -- who played his first game over the weekend since January 6th. He has been for several weeks and was able to post 22.8 FanDuel points in 18 minutes against the New York Knicks. That is strong production per minute, but the volume of minutes are relatively low. We should see his minutes increase in the coming days, so you want to grab some shares of him before his price also rises.

Speaking of minutes, we have him projected for 23 minutes tonight against the Dallas Mavericks, along with 23 FanDuel points. Getting one point per minute production is strong from any player, but with Wendell at only $3.6K tonight, it vaults him to being the third-best value player on the slate.

Kyle Anderson, SF, Memphis Grizzlies ($4,300)

Another strong value option tonight is Mr. Anderson.

The Atlanta Hawks are hosting the Memphis Grizzlies in what could be the best fantasy environment of the slate, where the over/under is set at massive 241 points and has both teams in the top seven for fastest pace this year. Two young teams who play super fast and really don't play defense is setting this up to be very fantasy-friendly, and you certainly want to get some exposure to this game. The Grizzlies are dealing with a few key injuries right now, and this has them starting Kyle Anderson -- listed as a small forward -- as the power forward.

Don't worry, the position change shouldn't impact Anderson tonight, since the Hawks are allowing a staggering 48.4 FanDuel points per game to power forwards -- tied for worst in the league. I absolutely love this spot for fantasy production on both sides, and our projections agree. They have Anderson going for 30 FanDuel points in 30 minutes, making him the number one overall value option on the slate. Hello Chalk City!

Matthew Dellavedova, PG, Cleveland Cavaliers ($3,500)

Are we about to get some Delly in our lives tonight?

The Cleveland Cavaliers have four players listed as OUT tonight and have a thinner rotation overall. One of those players is Darius Garland -- who is in the starting lineup -- and with him out, it brings us some value. This could be leading to Matthew Dellavedova either in the starting lineup or seeing decent minutes off the bench -- where he has been in recent games.

Throughout the season, Dellavedova has gone large stretches of time not playing or only seeing a handful of minutes. That has changed in recent games -- due to these injuries -- and has played 18 minutes or more in three-straight games. Add in another injury with Garland tonight, and Dellavedova should continue to see minutes. In fact, we have him projected for 26 minutes tonight and 19.6 FanDuel points. He is the absolute minimum salary and even though the production won't be off the charts, minutes equal money in NBA DFS.
