3 NBA FanDuel Value Plays to Target on Wednesday 4/21/21

Joe Harris continues to provide scoring for the Nets while they deal with some injuries. Who else should you roster tonight?

One of the keys to finding success in daily fantasy basketball is uncovering potential value plays. If you're looking to roster a stud player or two, you need to consider squeezing in one of these lower-salaried options into your lineup.

Let's take a look at three players who can help fill in the gaps in your lineup.

Kevon Looney, C, Golden State Warriors ($4,100)

With a massive 239-point over/under, the Golden State Warriors at Washington Wizards matchup looks amazing for fantasy production.

We have a massive 12-game slate tonight and there are plenty of top-tier stars you should be looking to pay up for and that means you need value in your lineup. If you are looking to pay up at the guard positions, finding value at center could prove vital, and that could lead you to Kevon Looney, who has looked good for the Warriors in their recent games. With James Wiseman and Eric Paschall both out, Looney has moved into the starting lineup and is currently producing 0.85 FanDuel points per minute, which is strong considering he is only carrying a 13.1% usage rate.

That has led him to produce 21 FanDuel points or more in three of his last four games, a level he can certainly reach tonight. The Wizards are allowing 57.83 FanDuel points per game to opposing centers, which is the second-worst in the league. This is why we see Looney projected for 32 minutes and 26.8 FanDuel points, making him the second-best value option on the slate.

Joe Harris, SF, Brooklyn Nets ($4,600)

The list of injuries for the Brooklyn Nets continues to grow and that opens up plenty of value.

Last night, the Nets were without James Harden, Kevin Durant, Chris Chiozza, Nicolas Claxton, Reggie Perry, and Tyler Johnson. They were down to a nine-man rotation, which could be only eight players tonight if Blake Griffin sits out due to injury management. This means plenty of shots are available in the Nets' offense and this is where Joe Harris is going to be able to excel. He showed off this potential last night with 32.4 FanDuel points in 32 minutes, on 16 field goal attempts. This gives Harris some scoring upside, which is what makes him valuable since he can struggle to fill up the stat sheet at times.

That scoring upside can be put on display tonight given the fact he is up against the Toronto Raptors, who are allowing opponents to make 13.8 three-pointers per game, which is the fifth-worst in the league. Harris, a former three-point champion, is holding a 47.7% three-point percentage this season, which is third-best in the NBA. If Harris gets hot from downtown, his ability to reach fantasy value can come quickly given how soft this matchup is.

JaKarr Sampson, PF, Indiana Pacers ($3,500)

The Indiana Pacers are a clear source of value tonight due to their injuries.

Myles Turner and Domantas Sabonis are both out, while Goga Bitadze, Jeremy Lamb, and Doug McDermott are all listed as questionable. This could push JaKarr Sampson into the starting lineup for the Pacers, and if that is the case, he is in a great spot to be a key value option tonight. He will be taking on the Oklahoma City Thunder, who are last in the league allowing 48.87 FanDuel points per game to power forwards.

While we won't see Sampson have a high offensive usage rate within the Pacers' offense, he is the minimum salary and doesn't have to do a ton in order to reach value. This game does feature a strong 229-point over/under, and combined with the soft matchup, we see Sampson projected for 22.4 FanDuel points in 20.92 minutes, making him the fourth-best value option on the slate.
