5 NBA FanDuel Value Plays to Target on Wednesday 11/9/22

One of the keys to finding success in daily fantasy basketball is uncovering potential value plays.

If you're looking to roster a stud player or two, you need to consider squeezing one of these lower-salaried options into your lineup.

Let's take a look at some players who can help fill in the gaps in your lineup on FanDuel tonight, using numberFire's daily fantasy basketball projections as a guide.

Bobby Portis, PF/C, Milwaukee Bucks

FanDuel Salary: $5,900

The Milwaukee Bucks could take up all five spots here, basically, but I won't go that route.

The Bucks list Giannis Antetokounmpo, Jrue Holiday, Khris Middleton, and Pat Connaughton as out. Without them on the floor, Portis has a 32.6% usage rate (over just 28.7 minutes) and 1.43 FanDuel points per minute, according to RotoGrinders.

Dating back to last year, Portis' usage rate has been 28.4% in this split with 1.04 FanDuel points per minute.

He's projected for 37.7 FanDuel points, good for 6.39 per $1,000 in salary.

Grayson Allen, SG/SF, Milwaukee Bucks

FanDuel Salary: $4,200

I'll cap it to just two Bucks writeups, but in addition to Portis and Grayson Allen, we can look to Jordan Nwora ($3,600), Jevon Carter ($3,800), George Hill ($3,600), Serge Ibaka ($3,500), Brook Lopez ($6,300), and even MarJon Beauchamp ($3,500) if we want.

In the split sans all the guys the Bucks have listed as out, Allen's numbers since the start of last year mirror Portis' -- 28.0% usage rate and 1.04 FanDuel points per minute.

This will be one of the best value situations we'll get all season.

Isaiah Hartenstein, PF, New York Knicks

FanDuel Salary: $5,200

A more traditional value play, Isaiah Hartenstein benefits from the absence of Mitchell Robinson.

Hartenstein played 20.9 minutes off the bench last game after starting and seeing 38.5 minutes the game prior. We'd prefer if Hartenstein starts, so check the New York Knicks' lineup, yet his efficiency can help overcome it if he's in a reserve role once again.

Hartenstein is averaging 1.01 FanDuel points per minute for the year and has been at 1.19 or higher in each of the past three seasons.

numberFire's model projects a bounce back for him: 33.5 FanDuel points over 29.9 minutes.

Andrew Nembhard, SG, Indiana Pacers

FanDuel Salary: $3,500

The Indiana Pacers are thin on the wing with Chris Duarte out and Aaron Nesmith questionable.

Andrew Nembhard has benefitted from Nesmith's recent injury and has played 27.9 and 33.6 minutes over the past two games. Nembhard's 0.81 FanDuel-point-per-minute rate is viable at those extended minutes.

He's projected for 25.4 minutes tonight and 23.4 FanDuel points (0.92 per minute). He's ultimately sitting as the best point-per-dollar value play on the board, according to numberFire's model.

Christian Koloko, C, Toronto Raptors

FanDuel Salary: $3,700

All of the non-Milwaukee value plays feel a little underwhelming due to the Bucks' massive opportunities, but there are still guys in other spots getting elevated chances.

Christian Koloko is one of them while Pascal Siakam remains out.

Koloko has played 31.0 and 21.1 minutes over the past two games and has gotten more than 21.0 minutes in four of the past five. He is a decent producer (0.77 FanDuel points per minute) but faces a worse-than-average center defense tonight in the Houston Rockets.
