Trail Blazers trading C.J. McCollum, two others to Pelicans in large deal
The Portland Trail Blazers are trading guard C.J. McCollum to the New Orleans Pelicans.
The Trail Blazers are acquiring Josh Hart, Tomas Satoransky, Nickel Alexander-Walker, Didi Louzada (knee), and three draft picks from the Pelicans in exchange for McCollum, Larry Nance Jr. (knee), and Tony Snell. McCollum is expected to start and he should see a similar role as a primary scorer in the Pelicans' offense. McCollum is expected to make his Pelicans debut on Thursday versus the Miami Heat. Ben McLemore will likely replace McCollum in the Trail Blazers' starting lineup on Tuesday against the Orlando Magic. Anfernee Simons will also step into a larger role on offense.
numberFire's models project McCollum to average 23.0 points, 4.0 rebounds, 4.9 assists, 1.0 steals, and 3.8 3-pointers per game over the rest of the season for New Orleans.
