Eric Gordon returning to Clippers in trade with Rockets

The Los Angeles Clippers acquired shooting guard Eric Gordon and three second-round picks in a three-team deal with the Houston Rockets and Memphis Grizzlies.

What It Means:

The Rockets are receiving John Wall (abdomen), Danny Green, and a 2023 first-round pick swap in the deal, while the Grizzlies are ending up with Luke Kennard. Gordon will compete with Norman Powell for minutes off the bench and take a big hit after being a starter in Houston this season. The 34-year-old was drafted by the Clippers with the No. 7 pick back in 2008. Gordon's departure frees up more opportunities for young guys like Kevin Porter Jr., Tari Eason, Kenyon Martin Jr., and Daishen Nix.

Gordon averaged 21.1 FanDuel points in 30.2 minutes over 47 games for the Rockets this season, with 13.1 points, 2.1 rebounds, 2.9 assists, and 1.8 3-pointers.
