Gary Trent Jr. opting in with Raptors for 2023
Toronto Raptors guard Gary Trent Jr. will opt into his $18.5 million player option for the 2023-24 season, reports Chris Haynes of Turner Sports.
Haynes adds that Trent wants to remain with the Raptors beyond 2024 and both sides are working on a long-term deal. Trent started 44-of-66 games for Toronto last season.
Trent had a 21.7% usage rate on the Raptors last season, fourth-highest on the team. He averaged 27.2 FanDuel points per game, with 17.4 points, 2.6 rebounds, 1.6 assists, 1.6 steals, and 2.5 3-pointers in 32.1 minutes per contest. Trent shot 43.3% from the field and 36.9% from beyond the arc.
