Ben Simmons starting in Nets season opener
The Brooklyn Nets are starting Ben Simmons, Spencer Dinwiddie, Mikal Bridges, Cameron Johnson, and Nic Claxton in Wednesday's regular-season opener against the Cleveland Cavaliers.
Simmons is back for the 2023-24 campaign after being shut down after the All Star break last season. The 27-year-old can fill out the box score, but he's struggled to consistently attack the basket and shoot with confidence in recent seasons.
Simmons has a $6,200 salary on Wednesday and numberFire's models project him for 28.4 FanDuel points over 31.3 minutes. Per our NBA Heat Map, the Nets’ implied total is 108.25, third-lowest out of 26 active teams today, while the game total (219.0) is second-lowest.
