6. 2010 Michigan State Spartans

It always seems like Tom Izzo has his guys prepared for the postseason. No matter the win or loss total, they're geared up and ready to go. This year, with a 28-9 record and a nERD of 13.04, the Spartans were no different.

Entering the Madness, Michigan State was a 5 seed, boasting a well-balanced team headed by junior Kalin Lucas and sophomore Draymond Green. The two averaged 24.7 points and 7.0 assists between them in the regular season and didn't slow down until much later in the postseason.

Michigan State topped four opponents, including the higher-seeded Maryland Terrapins. Then, they fell victim to fate against the aforementioned Bulldogs. The team was held to 50 points and Green was held to 12 himself as Butler won by two points in a matchup of two 5 seeds and Final Four participants.
