5. Michigan State Spartans - MSU is one of two teams that are among the top 10 in offensive and defensive rating. The well-rounded Spartans rank first in assist percentage (68.3) and block percentage (20.1) while coming in second in field goal percentage (51.8%) and points per shot (1.46).

4. Duke Blue Devils - Duke leads the country in scoring, putting up 89.6 points per game. The high offensive output is a result of also leading the country in offensive rebound percentage (41.2) combined with 51 percentage shooting (ninth in the country).

3. Purdue Boilermakers - Purdue is the other team ranking in the top 10 in offensive and defensive rating. Offensively, the Boilermakers excel behind the three-point line, ranking third with a success rate of 43 percent while averaging 1.45 points per shot, also good for third nationally. Defensively, they keep teams off the free throw line, only allowing opponents 0.15 free throws per field goal attempt, which ranks fourth.

2. Virginia Cavaliers - UVA is last in the country in pace and second in defensive rating, which results in the lowest opponents' scoring output at 52.3 points per game. They rank 13th in assist-to-turnover ratio and stay disciplined but disruptive on defense, getting 0.55 steals per personal foul, which ranks 2nd. Their Kenpom adjusted defensive efficiency currently ranks eighth historically.

1. Villanova Wildcats - Nova has been historically efficient on offense, according to Kenpom. The combination of ranking 1st in effective field goal percentage, 5th in turnover percentage (12.6%), and 3rd in three-pointers per game (11.5) has allowed the Wildcats to rank 3rd in points per game (88.4) while running the 147th-ranked pace in the country.
