Big Ten

Average Team nERD: 8.87

It may be a "down year" for the Big Ten's standards, but it's still been one of the top conferences this season. Its win percentage of 63.5% is better than that of the Big East, and it's just one full point (in nERD) behind the number two conference.

Even at the number four spot, the Big Ten might just be the most efficient conference on both ends of the court. The Big Ten has an average offensive percentile of 70.1 and an average defensive percentile of 70.1 -- both second among the top five conferences.

The Big Ten has seven teams with a defensive percentile of 81.5% or better and three teams with an offensive percentile of 98.4% or better. It has a lot of solid teams.

The Big Ten has nine teams in the top 50 in nERD and three in the top 25. However, our metrics like just six of those nine teams to make "the big dance," including Wisconsin as a number-one seed.
