FanDuel College Basketball Daily Fantasy Helper: Tuesday 2/15/22

March Madness is a ways away, but you can get into college hoops today by playing daily contests at FanDuel.

If you've played NBA DFS before, college basketball DFS is similar. You pick a total of eight players -- four guards, three forwards, and one utility spot. Stay within the $50,000 salary cap, and field the team you think will score the most fantasy points.

The scoring settings differ from NBA in the blocks and steals categories; each is worth two FanDuel points, rather than the three you get in NBA contests.

Now that you're in the know, let's attack today's main slate. All betting lines come from NCAAB odds.

Guards

Michael Devoe, Georgia Tech ($7,700) - The top of the forward pool is so good that I'll mostly stay away from the high-salary guards. With that said, I think that will be the popular lineup construction, so if you want to be unique, you can grab a top guard. Devoe is in a great matchup versus a North Carolina State defense that ranks 244th, per KenPom. Devoe has a 28.1% usage rate, according to Sports-Reference, and is averaging 18.6 points, 4.8 rebounds and 3.3 assists per night. Georgia Tech teammate Jordan Usher ($7,400) is a quality option, as well.

TyTy Washington, Kentucky ($6,000) - Kentucky and Tennessee tangle in a game with a 140.0-point total and 1.0-point spread. Washington isn't a lock to play due to injury, but if he's in there, I like him in this spot. He's scored at least 20.6 FanDuel points in three straight games and had 41.9 in the first meeting with the Vols. If Washington is out, Savir Wheeler ($5,400) should have to do more offensively. While Wheeler has been in a scoring slump, he's dished out at least six dimes in six games in a row and has scored at least 16.1 FanDuel points in seven straight. Davion Mintz ($4,400) and Kellan Grady ($4,800) would be decent dart throws if Washington can't go.

Malaki Branham, Ohio State ($5,800) - Ohio State carries a 76.00-point implied total, the second-best on the slate, for a date with Minnesota. The Golden Gophers are 137th in defense, and Branham is a way to get a piece of the Buckeyes without sacrificing that much salary. His 22.0% usage rate is second on the team among regulars, and he's logged at least 31 minutes in 10 of his last 11 games.

Dajuan Gordon, Missouri ($4,900) - Gordon is a viable low-salary pick with Missouri in a massive pace-up matchup versus Arkansas. The Tigers rank 272nd in adjusted tempo, while the Razorbacks check in 19th. Gordon has scored at least 20.8 FanDuel points in three of his last five games. While he has a 6.5-point dud in that span and his minutes can sometimes vary wildly, Gordon is a fine place to save salary on this slate.

Forwards

E.J Liddell, Ohio State ($8,600) - As I mentioned earlier, forward is loaded at the top end. Liddell is my favorite play. He's clearly the top dog on Ohio State, sporting a 31.9% usage rate that is 9.9 percentage points higher than anyone else's on the squad. He's averaging 20.1 points per game and is the only Buckeye scoring more than 10.7 per night. He's put up at least 34.1 FanDuel points in five consecutive outings. He should feast versus Minnesota.

Paolo Banchero, Duke ($8,200) - Duke's 80.25-point implied total is 4.25 clear of the field tonight, and with them being 10.5-point favorites over Wake Forest, the blowout risk isn't too bad. Banchero is averaging 33.0 FanDuel points per game for the campaign and has posted at least 26.3 in 15 straight while playing 34-plus minutes in three games in a row. This is a pace-up spot for the Blue Devils as Duke sits 140th in adjusted tempo, while Wake Forest is 56th.

Jaylin Williams, Arkansas ($7,900) - One more high-salary forward. Arkansas' 73.50-point implied total is the third-highest mark on the slate, and Williams is a great way to get exposure to the Razorbacks, who should have their way with Mizzou's 150th-ranked defense. Williams has scored at least 31.1 FanDuel points in 9 of his last 10 games, with the lone exception being a solid 25.8-point day. He's logged at least 33 minutes in six of his past seven games.

Timmy Allen, Texas ($5,200) - There's a lot to like about Allen at this salary. He's third on Texas in usage rate (23.0) and has started all 25 games for the Longhorns. Allen has played at least 25 minutes in seven of the past eight games, totaling at least 15.9 FanDuel points in seven games in that span. Despite Texas' matchup with TCU holding a gross 127.5-point over/under, Allen profiles as one of the better lower-salary forwards on this slate.
