7. 2008 USC Trojans

Before his downfall in the NFL, and before the famed butt-fumble, Mark Sanchez was part of an impressive run of great college football quarterbacks at USC.

In this his junior year, he threw for 3,207 yards and 34 touchdowns with a completion percentage of 65.8%. He was at the heart of a top-notch passing offense, averaging 9.77 adjusted yards per pass attempt.

That passing offense was the foundation of this Trojans team, but they also had three solid rushers, who all ran for at least 600 yards. Even more crazy, though, was the defense. It had players like Rey Maualuga, Brian Cushing, Clay Matthews and Everson Griffen, and so much more. This squad held opponents to 3.26 adjusted yards per pass attempt and 2.7 adjusted yards per rush attempt.

Naturally, Pete Carroll's team enjoyed a lot of success, with a 12-1 record and a win over Penn State in the Rose Bowl. Unfortunately, Tim Tebow and Sam Bradford were even better than Sanchez, and met in the BCS title game in which Tebow's Gators ultimately won.
